There are few concepts as important yet as misunderstood and unaccounted for in explaining international affairs as dignity. Absolutely! Dignity is a factor but security is more important. Allowing inspectors or “spies under cover” (read former chief inspector Scott Ritters recent article) to visit not just the registered, as required by NPT, but all locations they want is allowing foreign powers who have not just once said “The mililtary option is on the table”, sang “Bomb, Bomb, bomb Iran” to learn about every possible target in Iran or about the strength of the air defense, and the next time a republican hawk is on power, he can be confident about attacking Iran.
